This community run will explore how differences in green infrastructure, walkability and urban development can shape the quality of Nairobi’s environment. Participants will run through two contrasting areas along Ngong Road, the greener Ngong Road Forest Sanctuary and World War II Memorial Park corridor, and the densely populated Ng’ando area.
Using AirBeam 3 sensors, participants will collect hyperlocal air-quality data while documenting green spaces, pedestrian infrastructure and environmental conditions along the route. The activation combines movement, citizen science and community dialogue to better understand environmental inequalities and advocate for more equitable access to green, healthy and walkable spaces across Nairobi.
