Welcome to the Bogota Cityzens Hub
Empowering youth for healthier urban living through policy inclusion.
Our Mission
At the UrbanBetter Bogotá Cityzens Hub, hosted by Movilizatorio, we drive social and climate transformation by placing people at the centre. Through civic technology, strategic communications, and participatory methodologies, we foster collective action with a focus on social and climate justice. Our global mission is to build more inclusive, democratic, and sustainable societies by amplifying civic voices and enabling public participation.
As part of this broader mission, our mobility and air quality programme operates as an ecosystem of complementary interventions designed to help reshape Colombia’s environmental justice, focused on air quality, active mobility and decarbonization.
Through a structured process, we identify high-impact issue areas, map key actors capable of championing decarbonisation efforts, organise and train these constituencies, and amplify their agendas through creative campaigning and strategic communication.
While the programme is broad and systemic in scope, initiatives such as Métele Pedal stand as symbols of our long-standing commitment to active mobility and civic engagement. It represents one of many platforms we have helped facilitate to catalyse citizen-led climate action. Overall, our work builds the necessary alliances, narratives, and capacities to inform public policy, influence territorial planning, and contribute to more liveable, breathable, and equitable cities.
Our Work
Our work is focused on the following key areas: Youth, Climate and the Environment. To advance impact across these areas, we are guided by the following pillars:
Citizen Science and Data

We harness citizen-generated data to inform policy, influence planning and drive advocacy. Through tools like our cycling crowdmap and community-led surveys, we gather evidence rooted in lived experience to shape safer, greener and more inclusive cities.
Youth Leadership and Civic Power

We centre young people as active shapers of urban futures. By training youth in civic oversight, public advocacy and storytelling, we empower them to lead policy engagement, influence development plans and champion equitable climate action.
Community Participation

Our work is grounded in collaboration with frontline communities. From cyclists to coastal dwellers, we co-create citizen agendas, mobilise campaigns and embed community priorities into city planning through participatory methods and digital tools.

Daniela Castilla Orduz
I am a psychologist from Pontificia Universidad Javeriana with over nine years of experience leading environmental, social and corporate projects. I currently serve as Projects Director at Movilizatorio, where I lead initiatives focused on air quality and sustainable mobility. I also have extensive experience in energy transition and social causes such as anti-polarization strategies, combating misinformation, and youth mobilization. At Movilizatorio, my work and that of the teams under my leadership focuses on building citizen networks around common environmental causes. We implement a model that provides installed capacity, designs governance systems, and develops strategies for the execution and monitoring of effective communication and advocacy campaigns. I have collaborated with organizations including the Ford Foundation, the National Endowment for Democracy, and Open Society Foundations. I am also a partner of ¨Programa Tú¨, an educational venture promoting innovative pedagogy. My expertise also spans psychosocial support, participatory methodologies, and qualitative research. I believe in storytelling and collaboration as powerful tools for social and environmental transformation.
